I recently received an email from Donna Foxley, our region's representative of the United States Department of Education.

Ms. Foxley is seeking nominations for the Department's American Stars of Teaching program. She has received few nominations from our region and hopes to get many more before the April 15th deadline.

If you know of an outstanding teacher that you would like to see recognized, please consider making a nomination. Ms. Foxley is looking for teachers who are improving student achievement, using innovative strategies in the classroom, and making a difference in students' lives. If you know an outstanding teacher, consider nominating them for this honor, but meanwhile, be sure to let them know that you personally recognize their qualities and appreciate their service.
