Some examples include the McKay Building in Anchorage and the Polaris Building in Fairbanks. The bill changes existing language to clearly state when the deferral ends. Present law leaves that an unanswered question making it more difficult for a developer to seek financing for the refurbishing project. By changing the language to specifically include the word only when all or part of the project is transferred to a new owner clarifies the ending date of the deferral.
