(JUNEAU) - Sen. Lyda Green (R-Wasilla) is the National Foundation for Women Legislators' "Heart to Heart" Veterans Team Leader for Alaska. She is encouraging all veterans to make their oral history available to be archived as part of the Library of Congress' Veterans History Project.
"I've really enjoyed meeting all the veterans from around the state this year. I can only hope the stories I've heard from them in person will be available in this oral collection for the entire nation to see and hear," said Sen. Green.
Oral histories can be recorded on audio or videotape, or submitted on paper. This is an ongoing project, so there is no deadline for when you collect and hand over your stories. Please make any copies of the recording you wish to retain for yourself before submitting your history to the Library of Congress recordings.
