"HJR 31 is a choice. The people of Alaska will make the ultimate decision at the ballot box. Please ponder this plan and feel free to comment."
- Rep. Holm
(JUNEAU) - The House State Affairs Committee will hold a hearing on Representative Jim Holm's (R-Fairbanks) resolution, HJR 31.
HJR 31 calls for a constitutional amendment to pay out $20,000 to every Alaskan and use the money remaining in the permanent fund to generate earnings for the budget gap. The bill calls for the issue to be on the ballot this November.
Representative Holm encourages the public to attend and engage in dialogue on this issue.
The hearing will take place Thursday, March 4, 2004, beginning at 8:00 A.M., in Room 102 of the State Capitol.
Teleconference available at the Anchorage and Fairbanks Legislative Information Offices.
