"Resource development is one of the cornerstones of Alaska's economic well-being and this report highlights the importance of getting our natural gas to market."
- Speaker Kott
(ANCHORAGE) - The Alaska House of Representatives and Speaker Pete Kott (R-Eagle River) are responding to today's release of the Alaska Natural Gas Development Authority's (ANGDA) "The all-Alaska LNG Project, A Report to the People."
"This report is a thorough effort to show the people of Alaska what the development of a liquid natural gas project could do for the state," said Speaker Kott.
Legislative Budget and Audit Committee Chair Ralph Samuels (R-Anchorage) has held joint meetings over the interim with the Senate Resources Committee concerning a future natural gas pipeline. ANGDA has participated at those meetings.
"ANGDA's report is a valuable tool for Alaskans to learn more about the pipeline issues. A lot of time and effort has been put into this research, and I'm pleased that the public will be able to see this piece of the puzzle," said Representative Samuels.
"Resource development is one of the cornerstones of Alaska's economic well-being and this report highlights the importance of getting our natural gas to market. It is a necessary first step. I commend ANGDA for their work and dedication to this critical issue," said Speaker Kott.
