This map shows only some of Alaska’s many communities (there is not enough room for labels). Overall Alaska has over 334 communities ranging in size from 2 to over 250,000 people in Anchorage. As noted on the slide there six communities with more than 20,000 people, there are no communities this large in the NWT. Most communities are very small, with 230 having less than 500 people.
