This chart shows the percentage of NWT and Alaska communities in each population size grouping. Here we see a much closer distribution between the NWT and Alaska. About 70% of Alaska’s communities have less than 500 people, as is the case with 55% of NWT communities. Only a few communities in either territory have more than 5,000 people.
