This next slide looks at the major components of our GDP in 1997. We can see that government (Territorial, local and federal) accounts for about 28% of our GDP. Non-renewable resources account for about 1/5. Renewable resources are very small in the NWT, accounting for under 1%. The following chart shows the distribution of Alaska’s GDP.
