Overall Alaska is slightly larger than the NWT. Alaska covers about 1.5 million sq. kilometers while the NWT is 1.3 million sq. kilometers. The Yukon is about 1/3 as large as either Alaska or the NWT. Nunavut remains the largest territory with over 2 million sq. kilometers, about 1/5 of Canada.
