Before looking at some numbers, it might be useful to share some images of NWT communities. The first image is of Yellowknife looking towards town hall with the new Legislative Building in the background. The second photo is a picture of the Tuktoyaktuk on the Arctic coast; during the 1980’s it was home to many oil and gas exploration companies. This community has no road access. The 3rd slide shows the small, aboriginal community of Kakisa. Finally, the last slide shows the famous “igloo” church in Inuvik – one of our larger regional centers. Invuik is also the terminus of the Dempster Highway.
