Opportunity for Youth to Learn Legislative Process

Dear Neighbors:

The National Conference of State Legislators (NCSL) is sponsoring "America’s Legislators Back to School Week" again this year during the week of September 16th. In conjunction with several national education and civics groups, NCSL sponsors this event so that young people around the country have the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the legislative process and to inspire their active involvement in the democratic process.

I have valued the opportunity to go to schools in the Anchorage area over the past couple of years, and will be available to go to schools in your neighborhood again this year.

I hope your neighborhood schools will invite all legislators and candidates to participate in the effort to involve our young people in the democratic and legislative processes.
