Fish Caucus to Hear Summary of Fisheries Bills
(JUNEAU) -- The legislative Fish Caucus will be holding its second meeting of the session this Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. in the Butrovich committee room at the State Capitol. Rep. Drew Scalzi, (R-Homer) will be presenting summaries of the numerous fisheries bills before the legislature this session. Topics will include: permit stacking and permit buybacks, a renewal of the 1 percent salmon marketing tax as well as proposed restructuring of the Board of Fish. For time and logistical reasons public testimony on the issues brought up in the meeting will be deferred to the scheduled committee hearings when announced and not accepted in the caucus, however the public is invited to listen to the proceedings at any local Legislative Information Office.
