Help Available for Fishermen
(KODIAK) -- Senator Alan Austerman (R-Kodiak/Southeast Islands) and Representative Gary Stevens (R-Kodiak) continue to work to bring assistance to fishermen affected by poor seasons and low prices. Staff from the Alaska Division of Investments will be in Kodiak doing outreach work with local commercial fishers on Tuesday, October 2nd, 2001. "A representative will be assisting borrowers that need help with loan extension applications or with workouts on existing loans," said Senator Austerman. Information on loan programs available through the Alaska Division of Investments can be provided as well. The representative from the Alaska Division of Investments will be at the Kodiak Legislative Information Office (LIO) located at 112 Mill Bay Road from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. If you are in need of assistance, but will not be able to go to the LIO when the staff person is in town, please call toll free at 800-478-LOAN (5626) or 907-269-8150. Appointments are not necessary to receive assistance. Please bring copies of your 2000 income tax returns and a copy of your 2001 fish statements if you plan to file an Extension application. # # # Attachments:
