Legislative Leadership Recruiting for Session Pages
Watch the Legislative Process Up Close

For Immediate Release: November 22, 2002
Contact: Cliff Stone at (907) 465-2487

(JUNEAU)- The Alaska House and Senate leadership offices are now recruiting for pages to work the first session of the 23rd Alaska State Legislature. The session convenes on January 21st and runs through May 21, 2003 in Juneau. These jobs are located in our capitol city, and run from mid-January through the end of session.

These are support positions, generally intended for those young Alaskans under 22 years old. They offer great opportunities for entry into government service, the chance to see your legislative process in action, and provide good salaries and benefits for the duration of employment. All expenses such as travel, housing, and food are the responsibility of the employee. Every potential page candidate must have a valid Alaska driver's license.

"This is a tremendous prospect for young adults who have finished high school and are looking to gain a better understanding of Alaska and the inner workings of government," said Senator Alan Austerman (R-Kodiak).

For further details on this opportunity, please contact the office of Representative Norm Rokeberg in Anchorage, at (907) 269-0117 for House page positions, and Senator John Cowdery in Anchorage, at (907) 269-0222 for Senate page positions.
