Visiting Yukon Legislative Delegation Honored for Sept. 11 Assistance

(JUNEAU) - Join Sen. Randy Phillips (R-Eagle River), and Sen. Gary Wilken (R-Fairbanks), in honoring Members of the Legislative Assembly, (MLA) from the Yukon Territory for their assistance during the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

A press conference will be held Wed. March 6, at 1:30 p.m. in the Fahrenkamp Room on the second floor of the State Capitol Building, where Alaskan lawmakers will present a citation to the territorial delegation for their assistance in accepting a diverted Korean Airline on the morning of Sept. 11.

Established in 1982 by Phillips, this year marks the 20 anniversary of the legislative exchange between Alaska and the Yukon Territory. The exchange fosters an open forum of communications to discuss issues of mutual concern and interest, such as Alaska Highway, fish and game, natural gas pipeline and tourism.
