House Oil and Gas Committee To Evaluate DEC Enforcement Standards

JUNEAU - The House Oil & Gas Committee will conduct a public hearing concerning enforcement standards of the Department of Environmental Conservation (D.E.C) on Thursday, April 17th, at 8:30am in room 124 of the state capitol building. The hearing will be teleconferenced (listen only) statewide to all sites wishing to be connected.
Written public testimony is being requested regarding the methods used by the D.E.C. for enforcement of standards. Citizens and businesses are encouraged to describe experiences they have had in their dealings with D.E.C.
Written testimony will be the topic of discussion during the hearing. Written testimony may be submitted until the end of the working day on April 15th.
Representative Hodgins, Chair of the House Oil and Gas Committee, said the purpose of this hearing is to establish a user-friendly relationship between D.E.C., Alaska's citizens, and the business community.
