Juneau -- Finance Subcommittee chairmanships were announced today. Representative Alan Austerman (R-Kodiak) will chair three subcommittees reviewing State of Alaska department budgets.
They are the Department of Community and Regional Affairs, the Department of Labor and the University of Alaska. The subcommittee hearing process is a comprehensive analysis and opportunity for the departments to present and defend each agency's budget proposed by the Governor. Recommendations of the Subcommittee must go before the full Finance Committee for approval.
Representative Austerman stated, "The Majority is committed to working to decide a long-term budget solution ensuring the State's fiscal stability for the future of all Alaskans."
