Juneau -- The Alaska House of Representatives Friday passed House Bill 363, sponsored by Representative Alan Austerman. HB 363 renames the existing Wholesale Price Report to become the Alaska Salmon Price Report by updating it to include all salmon product types.

"This legislation should help fishermen and others in their pursuit of better information," Austerman said. "Increasingly sophisticated industry contracts, which are more and more dependent on the State's collection of wholesale data, are becoming the norm. This process should gradually lead to higher ex-vessel prices, benefiting local fishermen, communities, and the state."

HB 363 passed the House unanimously.
