Kodiak -- The state Department of Health and Social Services announced the availability of three fetal alcohol syndrome requests for proposals. The requests are being issued from the Office of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome for the prevention of fetal alcohol syndrome/alcohol-related birth defects, and to improve the delivery of services for individuals with FAS/ARBD. To apply for FAS multidisciplinary community team training, the due date is Sept. 29th. To apply for FAS multidisciplinary community team development, the due date is Oct. 9, and only existing FAS teams are eligible for these funds. To apply for innovative community grants for prevention and intervention services, the due date is Nov. 6. Details of these RFP's can be obtained by calling Diane Worley at (800) 478-2072.
