Juneau -- The Alaska House of Representatives Thursday passed the following House legislation:

HB 92: Municipal Taxation of Alcohol Sponsored by Representative Gary Davis (R-Soldotna), HB 92 would permit municipalities to impose a sales tax on alcohol without taxing other sales, after voter approval; it would also permit alcohol to be subject to a sales tax rate that is independent of that imposed on other sales. HCR 11: Substance Abuse Treatment for Offenders Sponsored by Representative Fred Dyson (R-Eagle River), HCR 11 encourages that efforts within the criminal justice system and at the legislative level be spent on responding to substance abuse with the goal of reducing recidivism.
