House Legislation Passes on Day 115

Juneau -- The Alaska House of Representatives Thursday passed the following House legislation:

Portrait of Representative Gary Davis HB 92: Municipal Taxation of Alcohol

Sponsored by Representative Gary Davis (R-Soldotna), HB 92 would permit municipalities to impose a sales tax on alcohol without taxing other sales, after voter approval; it would also permit alcohol to be subject to a sales tax rate that is independent of that imposed on other sales. HB 92 passed the House 31-6. (Contact: 465-2693)

Portrait of Representative Fred Dyson HCR 11: Substance Abuse Treatment for Offenders
