Examine Southeast Transportation Subcommittee to Take Comprehensive Look at Region's Needs
For Immediate Release: February 17, 1999 Juneau -- House Transportation Committee Chair Representative Beverly Masek (R-Willow) has appointed Representative Bill Hudson (R-Juneau) to chair a special subcommittee on Southeast Alaska's transportation needs. "The subcommittee will be taking a comprehensive look at the Southeast Transportation Plan and how it addresses the unique transportation needs of Southeast Alaska," Hudson said. "Additionally, we'll look at the Marine Highway system, its operating and capital needs as well as how well it is serving the public. We'll also review the progress of the Juneau Access Environmental Impact Statement." Representative Hudson has been a member of the Transportation Committee during every term he has served in the House. He is also a former Director of the Alaska Marine Highway System. In addition to Hudson, Representative Andrew Halcro (R-Anchorage) and Representative Albert Kookesh (D-Angoon) will serve on the subcommittee.
