Bill Addresses Technical Issues; No Changes in Benefits or Employer Costs
For Immediate Release: April 24, 2000 Juneau -- The Alaska Senate Monday passed House Bill 335, sponsored by Representative Bill Hudson. HB 335 addresses federal laws, court settlements, and other technical issues to update State laws regarding retirement and benefits. The bill also includes some efficiency measures requested by the retirement board. "I introduced HB 335 at the request of the Division of Retirement and Benefits," Hudson said. "Essentially, it is a clean-up bill. There is nothing in this legislation which either enhances or diminishes any retirement benefit for active employees or retirees in any public retirement system. Likewise, nothing in this legislation will increase employers' costs." HB 335 passed the Senate unanimously. Sponsor Statement for HB 335 |
