For Immediate Release: March 29, 1999 Juneau -- The Alaska House of Representatives Monday unanimously passed a measure removing employees of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board from the exempt service. "At one time, ABC employees were exempt and were appointed to their positions," said the bill's sponsor, Representative Pete Kott (R-Eagle River). "Now, all ABC employees are in the classified service and the statute (AS 39.25.110(15)) is superfluous. HB 94 now moves to the Senate. |
