Revenue Summit Tuesday, March 10th

For Immediate Release: March 9, 1998.

Juneau – Senate President Mike Miller and House Speaker Gail Phillips will co-chair a Revenue Summit Tuesday, March 10th to gather information relating to short and long term oil revenue projections for Alaska. The Summit will be held in the Senate Finance Committee room 532 in the State Capitol from 9-11 a.m.

Members of the Legislature, Administration and public are invited to attend this bi-partisan educational forum. Peter Bogin, from Cambridge Energy Research Associates, and Douglas M. MacIntyre from the U.S. Department of Energy, two nationally recognized revenue experts, will share their agencies’ perspectives on the world oil market.

Miller and Phillips said they hope to learn about how future oil prices will affect Alaska. Information gained from this Revenue Summit in conjunction with the Department of Revenue’s spring forecast, will give the Legislature the best possible framework from which to build a responsible financial future for Alaska.

The Revenue Summit will be teleconferenced statewide through Legislative Information Offices (LIO) on a listen only basis. Please call Portia Parker in Senate President Mike Miller’s Office to receive contact information about an LIO near you.
