Bill Increases Shareholder Flexibility with Owner's Option to Redeem

Juneau -- The Alaska Senate Monday passed House Bill 357, sponsored by Representative Lisa Murkowski. HB 357 permits corporations to issue preferred stock which can be redeemed at the shareholder's option.
"The changes incorporated in this bill will bring our laws into line with other states and promote commerce in Alaska," Murkowski said. "This option gives Alaskans an expanded investment opportunity and gives Alaska corporations another avenue to raise funds."
HB 357 passed 11-6. Notice of Reconsideration was filed.
