Juneau -- Senate President Drue Pearce (R-Anchorage) has been invited to attend the Air War College's forty-seventh Annual National Security Forum. The National Security Forum is the culminating event of the Air War College's academic year and is scheduled to be held at Air University, Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Alabama, from May 29 through June 2 2000. Lieutenant General Thomas Case, the Commanding General of Alaska Command, nominated Senator Pearce for the event. "I'm honored to be selected to join this year's Air War College graduating class and the other senior military and civilian leaders who will participate in this event," said Pearce. "The National Security Forum's objective is to establish a candid exchange of views on national security issues and I'm looking forward to providing an Alaska perspective." The Air War College is the senior professional school in the Air Force education system. Its mission is to prepare senior officers to lead in the strategic environment, emphasizing joint operations and the employment of air and space power in support of national security. The student body is a select group of officers in the grade of colonel or lieutenant colonel and comparable grade civilian employees of the U.S. government. | Top | Senator Pearce's Page | |
