Morones Leaves Majority Press Office

For Immediate Release: December 1, 2000
Contact: Laura Achee at (907) 269-0257

Anchorage -- Friday, Senate President Drue Pearce (R-Anchorage) announced that Mark Morones will be stepping down as Senate Majority Communications Director to pursue opportunities in Anchorage. Laura Achee will be returning to Juneau as the Senate Majority Press Officer, and will be taking over the duties of the Communications Director.

"Mark served us well as communications director, and we are sorry to lose him," said Pearce. "Laura worked closely with Mark last year, and will provide a seamless transition into the next session."

Achee will work closely with the incoming Senate President, Senator Rick Halford (R-Chugiak), as well as the other members of the Senate Majority Caucus, to keep the people of Alaska up-to-date on Legislative activity.
