To Go On-Line Today Economic Development & Tourism Meeting to Discuss E-Commerce
Juneau -- Monday afternoon, Alaskans will, for the first time ever, be able to follow the proceedings of a committee of the Alaska Legislature on their home or office computers. The Alaska House of Representatives' Special Committee on Economic Development and Tourism meets Monday afternoon at 5 o'clock in Room 124 of the Alaska State Capitol. The topic of the committee meeting will be an overview of e-commerce issues. "This is an exciting event, marking one of those transition moments in how the Alaska Legislature does business," said Representative Gail Phillips (R-Homer), Committee Chair. "Hopefully, it marks the beginning of a new level of involvement by Alaskans in the legislative deliberations that are the cornerstone of our representative democracy." The historic event was made possible thanks to cooperation between the Legislature and the Department of Administration's Internet Technology Group. The link to this webcast is now dead.
