Committee on Committees Report Contingent on House Approval

Anchorage -- The Alaska House of Representatives' Committee on Committees Monday recommended to the House that its original report for the 21st Alaska Legislature, dated January 19, 1999, be amended.
The Committee's proposed changes would affect the memberships of seven Standing House Committees and three House Special Committees. The recommended changes will require approval by the full House of Representatives before they go into effect.
"The House will take-up these recommendations immediately when the next session begins," said House Speaker Brian Porter (R-Anchorage), Chair of the Committee on Committees. "The committee is forwarding its recommendations now in order to give legislators and staff an opportunity to plan ahead for the upcoming session."
The legislature will convene at the Alaska State Capitol in Juneau on January 10, 2000.
