Juneau -- Representative Joe Ryan (R-Anchorage) has been named "Legislator of the Year" by the Alaska Public Employees Association and the Alaska Federation of Teachers.

"I'm honored that the Alaska Public Employees Association and the Alaska Federation of Teachers have selected me for this award," Ryan said. "The men and women who make up these organizations work hard for the people of Alaska and it is both a humbling and satisfying experience to know they have taken notice of my efforts," Ryan said.

Rep. Ryan was honored at a luncheon in Anchorage April 26th, part of the groups' biennial convention.
