Senate DOT Task Force to Meet July 16-17

Anchorage -- The Senate Department of Transportation (DOT) Task Force, formed to ensure Alaska’s transportation systems are in compliance with federal regulations, will meet July 16-17 in the Anchorage Legislative Information Office at 716 West 4th Ave.

Members of the task force include Senators John Torgerson (Chairman), Bert Sharp, Robin Taylor and Lyman Hoffman.

July 16: Commissioner Joe Perkins of the Department of Transportation with give a presentation regarding the Statewide Transportation Incentive Program (STIP), International Airport, Capitol Improvement Program (CIP) and Anchorage Municipal Transportation Program (AMTS). The presentation will include discussion of how projects are nominated, ranked, selected and scheduled.

July 17: Regional Director John Horn will discuss rural and certified airports, harbors, maintenance on roads and other related subjects.
