Full Commission to Act on Recommendations
Anchorage -- The 11-member Commission on Privatization and Delivery of Government Services, established by the Legislature to examine the possibilities of turning some state functions over to private industry, has begun receiving and reviewing the reports of its 18 subcommittees. These subcommittees have been meeting with Executive Branch department heads and evaluating programs which might be candidates for privatization. A schedule, subject to change, of subcommittee report filing days, is attached. The schedule is also available at the Commission's website, "www.privatizealaska.org." The site also has photos and contact information for commission members, along with links to resource material about privatization and news items from the Commission. The full commission will submit a written report to the governor and the legislature by January 1, 2000.
