Land Lottery

An Act providing for an annual land lottery.

Section 1: Adds to land disposal statutes language that requires the disposal of 25,000 acres of land by lottery each year. Parcels must be at least 5 acres and not more than 80 acres. Indicates cost of surveying shall be reimbursed to the state.

Section 2: Adds new section requiring the publication of an information pamphlet at least 45 days before lottery. Pamphlet is to include information about access to the parcel, transportation and available utilities.

Adds new section indicates that the state or municipal government is not obligate to make any improvements to serve the parcel. State funds may be used to construct a school only after there are at least 20 students to be served.
